London Independent Photography’s 24th Annual Exhibition is the
highlight of the group’s calendar. It is a must-see event for anyone
interested and involved with photography in London. The exhibition runs
from the 16th – 28th October at The Strand Gallery, which is located in
the heart of the West End.
The impartial selection process is key to the exhibition’s success,
as every LIP member has an equal chance of selection. This year 741
prints were submitted of which 116 were selected to be exhibited. The
result is a showcase of the diversity of talent and craft for personal
expression within the LIP membership.
Our independent selectors this year were Wayne Ford (former design director of Haymarket Business Media and art director for The Observer magazine, now running his own design studio), Homer Sykes (professional magazine and portrait photographer commissioned for weekend colour supplements such as The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, and The Observer magazines, also a visiting Lecturer at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London) and Helen Trompeteler (Assistant Curator of Photographs at the National Portrait Gallery, London).
THE STRAND GALLERY
is just moments from Trafalgar Square and is one of Europe’s most
popular private photographic galleries with previous exhibitions such as
Let it Bleed: The Rolling Stones 1969 U.S. Tour by Ethan Russell, Eltonography by Terry O’Neill, The Libertines by Roger Sargent and Bob Dylan by Jerry Schatzberg.
The Strand Gallery opening times:
